New nephew

I don't know why, but I have suspected it will be a boy.

Here, George models the first few inches of his present.

Halfdome #2

Hereby proving that it is difficult to photograph knit hats.

The receiver of this hat had requested that it be made more shallow, so as to resemble a mediterranean fishing hat. And so it is.

It's made of an alpaca blend, and I downsized the needles to accomodate for the yarn being a touch thinner.

You can see the nubbin that drives me crazy.

But the new owner of the hat loves it. Yay.

feedback

yeah, it's been a way long time since i really put anything on here.

1) my camera broke. what's a knitting blog without pictures?
2) i, erm, wasn't knitting for a while. ahhhhh i know, i know.

but i'm back!

i want to give feedback on my previous post about ravelry.com.

i am casting on for another version of halfdome, and i had a question regarding how NOT to end up with a nubbin on top of the hat. i posted a question to ravlery, and within a day i had multiple people offer solutions. not only that, but the author of the pattern (Yarn Boy) himself gave some input as well! it's right to the source with this resource.

anyway. ravelry is good. that's all i'm trying to say.

pictures soon.
